Short story

Pom is a boy who is lazy with doing his homework.
Dom is a boy who is lazy with thinking his schedule for next week.

Pom starts to think byu himself why he doesn't feel to do his homework all the time.
and he concluded that because he doesn't like homework.

Pom desided to ignore his homeworks.
the homeworks are compiled day by day on his desk.

but he didin't care about it, he kept ignoring his homeworks.

Once his homeworks are compiled upto the ceiling,
the homeworks tower became a real wood
and start to have branches and leaves... even fruits!

Pom picks up one of the fruits
and gave it to Dom.

Because Dom doesn't have any schedule for next week,
he decided to eat half of the fruits
and another half to bury next monday.



The fruits buried in the field grows quickly
because Dom kept watering the buried fruits
every hour.

Finally the buried fruits growed enough to be big tree
having plenty of fruits.


Dom gave one of the fruits to Pom.

Pom came back home and cut the fruits into half.
Then what he found inside of fruits
was the answer to the homeworks
which he compiled on the desk.

but his homeworks had already become a real tree, it was
not homeworks anymore.

That's why Pom made a pie using the fruits and castard cream.

He gave a piece of pie to Dom.

Dom ate it all and wrote a letter to
Pom to thank him for the pie.

Thank you for your pie, it was pretty tasty.
I grow up the fruits as I didn't have any plan to do.
That's why I had no stress to grow it up.
I hope you also didn't have any stress to make
the pie.

The giving tree.

"the Giving tree"

no limit of desire,no limit of love to adccept every thing.

There is a tree which gives a boy every thing he want.

His request becomes bigger and bigger.

At first he asked the tree to give him an apple.
but as he grows up, he starts to ask the tree money.

The tree cuts its branches and give them to the boy
to make money for selling them.

But the tree was happy when it see the boy's smile.
the giving tree kept devoting itself for the boy.

The boy never know what he've done.
Desire never finish like a fountain from the ground.

Does the tree accept everything too much?
but it is natural to want a smile from loved one.

The love in this story seems the matter between
parents and child.

"was the tree happy?
by the way what is happiness in the first place?"

if you began to think of it,
now you fall into the author's hand.


Good books always give you a deep question.
It depends on authors skill how deep the readers
get insight of the question.

I think I haven't met this kind of book for long time.
the giving tree
the theme itself is not something new.
but I was impressed with the settting and stracture.

Setting of stories

How a story shold be began?
it is obvious that dramatical setting attracts people.

Dramatical settings mean something
that rarely happens in reality.

One good example is "arashi no yoruni"
which was one of the most famous picture books
recently written by a Japanese writer.
Now the book is not only picture book
but also made into a movie, even now
into the drama.

The theme of "arashi no yoru ni" is
How a wolf and a goat can be good friends.

Basically it is impossible to built friendship
between them.

For wloves goats are only thier foods to make them full.

Nobody thinks that a wolf and a goat can be friends
when knowing the story setting in the first page of a book.
But actually on the other hand
you must also be curious for the destination
the story would reach finally.

Then you can't help stopping the hand
turning over pages until you finish the book.

In this kind of dramatic setting,
Readers can see clearly the position from which
they start to read the book.

And what all readers have to think is
how a wolf and a goat can overcome the difficulity.
Now readers are in the situation that they know
what they have to do but at the same time
they don't know what they can do.

now, the role of auther is leading
the readers to the answer with beautiful story.

They've already been ready to fallow the author.
Therefore the story will be easily accepted to them.
It means the author have chaptured hearts of readers.


"arashi no yoruni" in which
The two in quite oppesite side are creating the story.

It is useful to describe their uniquness having
tatally different figure with each other.
